Mary Cora Sprinkle's Obituary
Mary Cora Barbour Sprinkle, 81, of Irvington, Alabama, beloved mother, grandmother, great grandmother, passed away on January 27, 2017, surrounded by her family. She was preceded in death by her husband of 51 years, Robert “Manuel” Sprinkle; parents Mae and Joe Barbour, sisters Ruby Dismuke, Bertha Bosarge, brothers Joseph Barbour, RD Barbour and Oliver Barbour. She is survived by her children: Robert Erwin (Debbie) Sprinkle, Vivian (Lyle) Reisner, and Kenny (Ary) Sprinkle; grandchildren Heather (Frankie) Sprinkle Hill, Rhonda (Joe) Peterson, Cristina (Creg) Stephenson, Robert (Tiffanie) Sprinkle, Amy Sprinkle Donovan; great grandchildren Brittany, Brandon, Brock, Joshua, Frankie, Austin, Breanna, Abby, Ethan, and Ellie; many nieces, nephews, great-nieces and great-nephews; and her beloved dog, Angel. She was a life-long member of San Souci Baptist Church in Coden, Alabama, where she served faithfully and loved her church family; and for many years directed Vacation Bible School and served as Music Leader. She loved singing in church, working puzzles and spending time with her family, and being “Meme” to her grandchildren, great grandchildren and their friends. Visitation is at 10 a.m. Tuesday, January 31, at San Souci Baptist Church, with funeral to follow at noon. Interment immediately after at Odd Fellows Cemetery. Pallbearers are Robert Sprinkle, Joe Peterson, Creg Stephenson, Daryl Wescovich, Anthony Barbour and Shelton Sprinkle. Honorary pallbearers are Brandon Sprinkle, Frank Reynolds, Brock Whaley, Joshua Sprinkle, Frankie Hill, Austin Hill and Ethan Peterson. The family would like to give special thanks to St. Joseph Hospice Care. Arrangements under the direction of Serenity Funeral Home, Theodore, Alabama.
