MARY BARKER McELMURRAY's Obituary
PERRY-
Mary Ruth McElmurray entered the arms of her loving savior on Wednesday, July 31, 2024. Funeral Services will be held on Friday, August 2, 2024, at Watson-Hunt Funeral Home. Visitation will begin at 10:00 a.m. with Funeral Services following at 11:00 a.m. with Mr. Nathan Chancey officiating. She will be laid to rest beside her husband at Woodlawn Cemetery immediately following the service. In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests memorial contributions be made to Beaver Creek Primitive Baptist Church, C/O Clerk Johnny Ward, 2117 HWY 127, Perry, GA 31069.
Mary was born in Wilcox County to the late Bartlette and Julia Barker on May 6, 1942. When she was 16, she moved to Warner Robins. There she met the love of her life, Roy A. McElmurray. They were married for 55 years until his death in 2014. Mary and Roy had 4 children of their own and many grandchildren and great-grandchildren who filled their lives with great joy. She was a member of Beaver Creek Primitive Baptist Church for over 50 years.
Mary was preceded in death by her parents; her siblings, Wynelle Ledford, Bart Barker, George Barker, Janette Braziel, Zeke Barker; and Steve McElmurray.
Left to cherish the memories they made with Mary are her children, Royce McElmurray (Marilee) of Brunswick, Keith McElmurray (Lynn) of Unadilla, Julie Hughes (Donnie) of Fort Valley, Sarah O’Neal (Steve) of Roberta; and several grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
