PERRY-Mary Elizabeth Kent Posey, 92, passed away on Saturday, April 2, 2016, at Heart of Georgia Hospice Inpatient Unit in Perry. A Graveside Service will be held on Tuesday, April 5, 2016, at 2:00 p.m. at Pine Level Cemetery in Mauk, Georgia. In lieu of flowers, the family respectfully requests memorial contributions be made In Memory of Mary Elizabeth Paris, Mrs. Posey's great-granddaughter, to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital, 501 St Jude Place, Memphis, TN 38105 or CURE Childhood Cancer, 1117 Perimeter Center West, Suite N-402, Atlanta, GA 30338 or donations may be made online to either organization. Mrs. Posey was born in Manchester, Georgia, to the late Elmer and Quilly Foster Kent. She was a school Lunchroom Manager in Talbot County and Meriwether County with over 30 years of service combined. Mrs. Posey was a member of Geneva Baptist Church in Geneva, Georgia. She was preceded in death by a son, Gary Posey; her beloved husband, James Posey; her brother, Elmer Kent, Jr.; and a great-granddaughter, Mary Elizabeth Paris.Left to cherish the memories of Mrs. Posey are her daughter and son-in-law, Lynda and Leon Taylor of Culloden; her son and daughter-in-law, Joe and Judy Posey of Perry; 6 grandchildren; 10 great-grandchildren; 4 great-great-grandchildren; her sisters, Grace McAlister and Doris Pitts, both of Thomaston; and several nieces and nephews.Condolences for the family may be left in the online guestbook at www.watsonhunt.com.
