Mary Alice Kelley McDaniel Morris, 76, entered into rest on Friday, October 26, 2012, at Heart of Georgia Hospice Inpatient Care in Perry. Funeral Services will be held on Sunday, October 28, 2012, at 3:00 p.m. in the Chapel at Watson-Hunt Funeral Home in Perry with Dr. Tracy Brinson and Chaplain Gene Saunders officiating. Interment will be in Perry Memorial Gardens immediately following the service. Visitation will be on Saturday, October 27, 2012, from 5:00 to 7:00 p.m. at Watson-Hunt Funeral Home. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to Heart of Georgia Hospice Inpatient Care, 1120 Morningside Drive, Perry, GA 31069.
Mary Alice was born in Oglethorpe to the late Homer Lester Kelly and Opal Flossie Cheek Kelley. She was a homemaker until she began working with the Oglethorpe Elementary and Junior High School. She then went to work as a secretary at Beechwood School in Marshallville. Mrs. Morris later took a position at Robins Air Force Base, working in several different areas through the years including Military Pay and Joint Stars. She retired after 20 years at RAFB. Mrs. Morris was a member of First Baptist Church of Perry and the Joy Sunday School Class. She was preceded in death by a son, Michael David McDaniel; a brother, Howard Lester Kelley; and her husbands, Sidney Brooks McDaniel and Sidney Morris.
Her memory will forever be treasured by her children, Donald James McDaniel of Warner Robins, and Marilyn Bridges (Glenn) of Kathleen; her siblings, Gary Aldean Kelley (Willette) of Jonesboro, Laura Nell McKenzie and Mark A. Kelley (Lillian), both of Oglethorpe; her sister-in-law, Julie Raymond of Las Vegas, Nevada; her grandchildren, Brooke Adams of Hawkinsville, Echo McDaniel of Reynolds, and Glenn Bridges, Jr. (Courtney) of Anchorage, Alaska; her great-grandchildren, Hunter Adams, Sydney Adams, Cole Bridges, and Lane Bridges; and several nieces and nephews.
