MARY ELLEN MOORE MERCER's Obituary
PERRY –
Mary Ellen Mercer, 47, passed away peacefully at her home on Tuesday, June 16, 2020, after an extended illness. Funeral services will be privately handled by the family.
Mary Ellen was born in Selma, Alabama, and has lived in Middle Georgia most of her life. She graduated from the Red Cross’s Nurse’s Training program then studied Accounting at South Georgia Technical College. Mary Ellen spent many hours behind the screen of her computer releasing her creativity by writing stories. Had she continued strengthening her writing skills and releasing stories, she would have become a published author. Through the years, Mary Ellen enjoyed cooking, but as her health declined, her mobility gradually became more and more limited. She dearly loved her family, and they dearly loved her. She was preceded in death by her father, Alfred Moore.
Left to cherish the memories of Mary Ellen are her loving and devoted husband, Fidencio Juan Gonzalez of Perry; her daughters, Maria Lopez (Fernando Gonzalez) and Teresa Ortega (Fernando Masariegos), both of Americus, and Kim Ortega of Surprise, Arizona; her only granddaughter, Jordan DeBruin of Arizona; her mother, Edith Sheffield; her siblings, Evelyn Gidney-Urbina and Michael Dunn; and several nieces, nephews, and cousins.
Please sign the online guestbook at www.watsonhunt.com. Watson-Hunt Funeral Home has been entrusted with the arrangements.
