MARY CHANDLER DAVIS's Obituary
PERRY –
Mary Chandler Davis, 83, went home to be with her Lord and Savior on Thursday, January 28, 2021, after a very brief illness. Funeral Services will be held on Sunday, January 31, 2021, at Christ’s Sanctified Holy Church, with the Family Gathering from 1:00 until 2:00 p.m., and the Funeral beginning at 2:00 p.m. Interment will be in the Cemetery at Christ’s Sanctified Holy Church Campground. Considering the current Covid pandemic, please wear a mask and practice social distancing for the protection of everyone there.
Mary was born in Charleston, South Carolina, to the late Dan and Fannie Mae Menck Chandler. She grew up in a laughing and jovial home with a house full of boisterous children and a father who always instigated the fun. Mary was sanctified as a young teenager, and graduated from Norview High School in Norfolk, Virginia. She soon married the love of her life, Marvin Davis, and the couple had three children. They moved to various locations throughout their married life, and after living in Conyers, Georgia, settled in Perry at Christ’s Sanctified Holy Church Campground where they have lived for nearly twenty years. Mary loved her family, and spending time with them was her favorite thing to do. She always enjoyed cooking for her family, especially baking goodies which she had every time they arrived.
Left to cherish the memories they made with Mary are her faithful and devoted husband of sixty-five years, Marvin Davis of Perry; her children, Wayne Davis (Donna) of Columbia, South Carolina, Denver Davis (Anita) of McDonough, and LeReita Davis of Perry; nine grandchildren; twenty great-grandchildren; four great-great-grandchildren; her brother, Roy Chandler (Dawn) of Delaware; and numerous nieces, nephews, great-nieces, and great-nephews.
Mary was preceded in death by a grandson, Jason Andrew Williams; her brothers, D.W. Chandler, Ernie Chandler, and Billy Chandler; her sisters, Dora Rodgers, Catherine Simons, and Anna Mae Rickards.
Condolences for the family may be left in the online guestbook at www.watsonhunt.com. Watson-Hunt Funeral Home has been entrusted with the arrangements.
