Martha Chamberlin Kodra's Obituary
PERRY-
Martha Chamberlin Kodra, 78, passed away on Wednesday, May 14, 2014. Funeral Services will be held on Sunday, May 18, 2014, at 2:00 p.m. at The Vine Church. Interment will be private. The family will visit with friends on Saturday, May 17, 2014, from 5:00 until 7:00 p.m. at Watson-Hunt Funeral Home.
Mrs. Kodra was born in Dorloo, New York, to the late Jesse and Ruth Chamberlin. A festive and vivacious woman, she always saw the best in people. When she was in ninth grade, she was chosen to be the Captain of the varsity cheerleading squad. Mrs. Kodra loved crafts and decorating for all occasions. She devoted her life to caring for and loving her family. As a homemaker, she took every opportunity to create a friendly and inviting environment in her home. She enjoyed collecting rabbits, coins, and colored glass. Mrs. Kodra loved to sew and crochet, and made many things for her family members through the years, including blankets every time a baby was born and Halloween costumes. She was a member of The Vine Church and was a positive role model for all those around her. She was a wonderful "Grammy" and "G.G" to her greatest treasure, her family, who will miss her dearly. She was preceded in death by her son, Gary Kodra, and 3 sisters.
Left to cherish the memories of Mrs. Kodra are her loving husband of 60 years, Bill Kodra of Perry; her daughter, Brenda Ryberg of Perry; her grandchildren, Miranda Croxton (Benjamin) of St. Mary's, Erika Dean (Malcolm) of Perry, and Nicholas Ryberg of Perry; and 6 great-grandchildren.
Condolences may be left for the family in the online guestbook at www.watsonhunt.com. Watson-Hunt Funeral Home has been entrusted with the arrangements.
