Marjorie Diebert's Obituary
PERRY - Marjorie Stapleton Deibert, 92, passed away on December 30th, 2015. She was born in Tamaqua, PA to parents Paul and Emma Stapleton. She graduated from Susquehanna University with a B.S. in Music Education, which began her lifelong career and love of teaching. She taught music at Hummelstown Elementary in Pennsylvania and moved to Perry, GA in 1965. Marjorie taught at Perry Elementary and eventually retired as a Third Grade teacher at The Westfield Schools. Marjorie was an active member of the community and belonged to many organizations and clubs such as the Houston Chapter #383 Order of the Eastern Star (former Matron), Ha Hisla Temple #98 Daughters of the Nile (former Queen), Alpha Lambda Chapter of Delta Kappa Gamma (former President), Forget-Me-Nots, and Sweet Peas. Marjorie was preceded in death by her beloved husband of fifty years, Oliver Russell Deibert, and her son, Gary Oliver Deibert. She is survived by her daughter-in-law Linda Deibert; grandson Michael Deibert (Krista); granddaughters Rebecca Deibert Stoffel, Bethany Deibert, Ellen Deibert Jordan (Matt), Alison Jean (Daniel); and seven great-grandchildren. The family will receive friends from 3:00 - 5:00 pm on Sunday, January 3rd at Watson - Hunt Funeral Home in Perry. In lieu of flowers the family requests donations to the Shriner's Children's Hospital, Greenville, SC. Services for Marjorie Stapleton Deibert will be held at Andersonville National Cemetery on Monday, January 4th at 10:00 am.
