MARIANNE MOODY WEIK's Obituary
Marianne Moody Weik, 82, passed away unexpectedly on Thursday, March 7, 2024, after an outpatient medical procedure. Services will be held on Sunday, March 10, 2024, at Grace Church. Visitation will be from 2:00 until 3:00 p.m., and the Memorial Service will begin at 3:00 p.m. Pastor Don Caulley will officiate.
Marianne was born in Macon on December 15, 1941, to the late Little Berry Moody, Sr., and the late Pauline Morris Moody. A lifetime resident of Perry, she graduated from Perry High School in 1959. For many years, Marianne was the Secretary at the Houston County Extension Agent’s office. After she retired, Marianne spent many of her days as a substitute teacher with the Houston County Board of Education. Marianne enjoyed helping with the Good News Club at Kings Chapel Elementary School.
Marianne was a long-time member of Grace Church where she was very active leading small groups, Children’s Church, and Vacation Bible School. She loved her church home and her church family, but her passion in life was her children and grandchildren, with whom she adored and enjoyed spending time. Marianne was a strong woman who had endured a great deal through her life yet continued to persevere.
Marianne was preceded in death by her parents; her husbands, Jack Huckaby, Emmett Whelchel, and Richard Weik; her son, Ed Huckaby; her brother, Berry Moody, Jr.; and her brother-in-law, Jimmy Bishop.
Left to cherish the memories they made with Marianne are her children, Robin Williamson (Gino) of Elko, and Cainan Whelchel (Kate) of Perry; her grandchildren, Thomas Williamson (Megan), Lindsey Furr (Preston), Haylee Mobley (Raymond), and Joshua Williamson (Haley), Ava Whelchel, and Lilly Whelchel; her great-grandchildren, Lincoln Furr, Kimbrel Furr, and Violet Williamson; her sister, Jeanie Bishop; her brother, Morris Moody (Ginger), both of Perry; and several nieces, nephews, great-nieces, and great-nephews.
Condolences for the family may be left in the online guestbook at www.watsonhunt.com. Watson-Hunt Funeral Home has been entrusted with the arrangements.
