MARIA P. FLETCHER's Obituary
PERRY –
Maria Pilar Pasaban Fletcher, 89, passed away peacefully on Thursday, May 29, 2025. Graveside Services will be held on Friday, June 6, 2025, at 10:00 a.m. on the Pavilion at Andersonville National Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, the family respectfully requests memorial contributions to Friends of Perry Animal Shelter (FOPAS), 204 Kellwood Drive, Perry, GA 31069.
Maria was born in Pamplona, Spain, to the late Felix Pasaban and the late Micaela Azcona Pasaban. She was a homemaker all of her life, and caring for others was her passion. Maria spent a great deal of time nursing others in their final months and days before their passing, assisting each with their natural transition. She was a strong lady who was strong in her faith. She was a member of the former Second Memorial Baptist Church and attended The Way Baptist Church with her daughter when she was able. All of her life, Maria loved animals – dogs, cats, squirrels, turtles, owls – too many to name. She was known for rescuing animals who were homeless, hurt, or hungry, and would often bring home any of the animals named above, and others, as well. She was a faithful wife, a loving mother and grandmother, and dear friend.
Maria was preceded in death by her loving and devoted husband of fifty-two years, TSGT William A. “Bill” Fletcher, Sr, USAF, (Ret.), a son, James Arnold Fletcher; and a daughter, Linda Selph.
Left to cherish the memories they made with Maria are her children, William “Billy” Fletcher (Christy) and Maria D. Fletcher of Perry, and Monnet Garza (Carlos) of Ft. Worth, Texas; and her grandchildren, Taylor, DJ, Hailey, Aaron, Whitney, Christian, Drake, Ty, and Michael.
Condolences for the family may be left in the online guestbook at www.watsonhunt.com. Watson-Hunt Funeral Home has been entrusted with the arrangements.
