Margaret Compton Hardage's Obituary
Margaret Compton Hardage, 100, passed away on Saturday, October 25, 2014. Funeral Services will be held on Thursday, October 30, 2014, at 2:00 p.m. in the Chapel at Mayes Ward - Dobbins Funeral Home in Marietta. Interment will be in Kennesaw Memorial Park Cemetery immediately following the service. The family will greet friends on Thursday, October 30, 2014, from 1:00 until 2:00 p.m., the hour immediately preceding the funeral service, at Mayes Ward - Dobbins Funeral Home. In lieu of flowers, the family respectfully requests memorial contributions to House of God at First Baptist Church of Perry, 1105 Main Street, Perry, Georgia 31069 or The Employees' Fund at Christ's Sanctified Holy Church Home Rehabilitation and Healthcare, 2470 US Hwy 41 North, Ft. Valley, Georgia 31030.
Mrs. Hardage was born in Acworth to the late Jesse and Caldonia McCutcheon Compton. Having moved from Marietta, she had lived in Perry since 1994. She was a member of First Baptist Church of Perry and the Willing Workers Sunday School Class. Known for her many talents, Mrs. Hardage was very creative and was always working with some type of crafts. She loved to crochet and paint on china, both which she did very well. She was a wonderful "Granny" to her grandchildren and great-grandchildren, with whom she treasured every moment spent. She was preceded in death by her loving husband of many years, Gene Hardage; 5 brothers; and 4 sisters.
Left to cherish the memories of Mrs. Hardage are her daughter and son-in-law, Kay and Clark Parkerson of Perry; her grandchildren, Pat Nunn (Tracy) of Acworth, Kim Nunn Herren (Wade) of Kathleen, and Kelly Nunn Borders (Morris) of Acworth; 8 great-grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews.
