Marcus Eugene 'Marc' Martin's Obituary
PERRY-
Marcus Eugene "Marc" Martin, 45, passed away on Friday, June 12, 2015. Funeral Services will be held on Wednesday, June 17, 2015, at 2:00 p.m. at First Baptist Church of Perry. A Private Interment in the Martin/Meadows Cemetery in Hawkinsville will be held immediately following the service. The family will receive friends on Wednesday, June 17, 2015, from 12:00 noon until 2:00 p.m., preceding the service, in the sanctuary at the church. Friends are also welcome to visit with the family at the Martin home. In lieu of flowers, the family respectfully requests memorial contributions to The House of God Campaign, First Baptist Church of Perry, 1105 Main Street, Perry, GA 31069 or to the donor's favorite charity.
Marc was born and raised in Hawkinsville and was a 1988 Graduate of Hawkinsville High School. He graduated from Georgia Southern University in 1992, and later received a Master's Degree in Business Administration from Georgia Southwestern College and State University. He was a Senior Loan Officer at The Bank of Perry for over 10 years. Marc was an active member of First Baptist Church of Perry where he was a Deacon and a member of the Young Adult Sunday School Department. He was an Awana Commander for several years and served on multiple committees at the church through the years. Marc was very involved in his community as a member of the Kiwanis Club and an active member of Perry Area Chamber of Commerce. He has served in various capacities on several committees with the Chamber and is a recent Past President. While his accomplishments were many, Marc's greatest treasures in this life were his faith in God, his family, and his friends. He was a devout Christian, a loving husband, a devoted father, a wonderful son, brother, and friend. His kindness, gentle nature, and friendly smile will be dearly missed by all who loved and knew him. Marc was preceded in death by his paternal grandparents, Mr. and Mrs. Howard Martin, Jr.; his maternal grandfather, Mr. Willard Thomas Boling, Sr.; his uncle, Willard Boling, Jr.; and his cousins, Lana Meadows, Leah Meadows, and "Boots" Boling, III.
Left to cherish the memories of Marc are his loving and devoted wife of 19 years, Robin Fowler Martin of Perry; his sons, Daniel Martin and Levi Martin, both of Perry; his parents, Barry and Alice Martin of Hawkinsville; his sisters, Monica Martin Bass (Heath) and Mitzi Martin, both of Hawkinsville; his maternal grandmother, Nora Rhodes Boling; his parents-in-law, Ken and Tommie Fowler of Hawkinsville; his brother-in-law, Brian Fowler (Julie) of Hawkinsville; 4 nephews; a niece; a great-nephew; and numerous aunts, uncles, and cousins.
