Mack was born on March 27, 1949, in Perry, Georgia. He lived a life marked by dedication to his family, his work, and his community. Mack spent nearly five decades as a Collision Repair Specialist, a career that showcased his meticulous skill and dedication. He worked at several respected establishments, including Moody Motor Co. in Perry, Harrison's Body Shop and B & H Body in Macon, and Randy's Collision Center in Warner Robins. His work was not just a job but a craft he developed with precision and pride.
Outside of work, Mack was a man of diverse interests and deep passions. He was a fervent supporter of the Georgia Bulldogs and NASCAR, and he found joy in fishing and camping. Mack took particular pride in maintaining his yard, often seen mowing his grass and trimming shrubs regularly. An accomplished barefoot water-skier, he passed this skill along to his son, embodying his role as a teacher and mentor. Mack's love for his family was profound, especially for his wife, Barbara, to whom he was married for 48 years until her passing, and his adoration for his grandchildren knew no bounds.
Mack was baptized later in life at The Vine Church of Houston County, where he was an active member until his health prohibited him from attending. His faith was an important part of his life, providing him with community and comfort.
Mack was preceded in death by his beloved wife, Barbara Peavy Rainey, and a sister, Sarah Ann Rainey.
Survivors include his son and daughter-in-law, Dustin and Kaitlin Rainey; his grandchildren, Sarah Ann Rainey, Weston Rainey, and Sylvie Rainey; his siblings, Jim Rainey (Belinda) of Marietta, Judy Rainey Williams of Warner Robins, and Betsy Willard (Tommy) of Perry; and many nieces, nephews, great-nieces, and great-nephews.
Mack's legacy is one of love, skill, and quiet strength, leaving a lasting mark on all who knew him.
Condolences for the family may be left in the online guestbook at www.watsonhunt.com. Watson-Hunt Funeral Home has been entrusted with the arrangements.
