Lucille Ann Chance's Obituary
Lucille Ann (Abates) Chance, 74, native of Mobile, resident of Semmes, AL for 28 years, passed away at a local hospital on Tuesday, December 15, 2015. Lucille retired from Mobile County Public Works after 11 years of service. She was preceded in death by her parents, Emanuel Joseph Abates, Lucille Pearl Abates, her daughter, Elizabeth Ann (Jones) Laurence, sister Catherine Elizabeth Carrell and brother Robert David Abates. She is survived by her husband, Sidney Chance Jr., 3 sons, Charles (Patricia) Jones Jr., Allen (Tamara) Jones Sr., Raymond (Jennifer) Jones, 9 grandchildren, 7 great-grandchildren, 1 brother, Emanuel Abates Jr., many nieces and nephews, other relatives and friends. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital (www.stjude.org ; 1-800-822-6344) A visitation will be held Sunday, December 20 from 12noon-2pm at Serenity Funeral Home with funeral services starting at 2pm in the funeral home chapel. Pallbearers will be Charles Jones III, Anthony Jones, Terry Jones, Allen Jones, Jr., John Laurence, and Andrew Laurence.
