Louis Henry Snow's Obituary
Louis Henry Snow was born in Bayou La Batre on October 24, 1935 and was welcomed into the arms of God on January 20, 2015. He lived most of his life in Mobile, AL. He retired from Mobile Press Register. He was preceded in death by his parents, Rufus and Genevieve and sister, Linda Snow Walters. He is survived by his wife of 47 years, Lillian Smith Snow, daughters, Pamela Snow (Joe) White and Monica Snow Swann, grandchildren, Amber Nicole Molyneux, James P. Molyneux, Matthew Douglas Molyneux, Cameron Christopher Swann, Zachary Alexander Swann and Preston Paul Swann, nephew, David (Annie) Walters, niece, Karen Walters (Brian) Cox, great nephew, Reid Walters. Louis was a Veteran of the United States Army National Guard called to active duty during the Berlin Crisis. Louis attended the University of Southern Mississippi and graduated from the Southern School of Printing in Nashville, TN. He was a printer in Mobile and Baldwin County for 37 years. He was past President of the Typographical Union of Mobile and a Representative of the Union from the Mobile Press Register to the Southeastern Conference. He was a member of the Sons of the Confederate Veterans; a 35 year member of the Friendly Sons of St. Patrick where he was a “Leprechaun”. He was past Chaplain of Loop Lodge #895 F.& A.M., Past Monarch and present Chaplain of the AL Hassen Grotto and a member of St. Mark United Methodist Church. Louis was an advid Alabama Football fan and loved being a very believeable Santa’s helper for 30 years all over Mobile. He was a past member of 2 Mardi Gras Societies and a Charter Marshal for the OOL’s. Louis never met a stranger and dearly loved his family and friends. He loved going and later watching the Alabama games on T.V. with family and friends ringing his cowbell after every Alabama touchdown. He took his duties as a Leprechaun for the Friendly Sons of St. Patrick seriously, visiting schools, nursing homes and children’s homes in Mobile and Baldwin Counties. He couldn’t wait each year to be able to parade with his 5 grandsons in the St. Pat’s Day Parade. Louis loved to dress in his Leprechaun costume and couldn’t wait to add new pins or patches each year. Louis will truly be missed by all who knew him and also his best little friends “Angel” and “Bootsie”. Visitation will be held at Serenity Funeral Home on Sunday, January 25, 2015 from 5 pm until 8 pm. Funeral service will be held in the chapel at Serenity on Monday, January 26, 2015 at 12 noon. Interment will be in Mobile Memorial Gardens.
