Loled 'Dick' Monds' Obituary
PERRY-
Loled "Dick" Monds, 80, peacefully entered Heaven on Sunday, March 23, 2014, after an extended illness. Funeral Services will be held on Thursday, March 27, 2014, at 10:30 a.m. at Cross Point Baptist Church with Reverend Jeremy Morton officiating. Visitation will be on Thursday from 9:30 to 10:30 a.m., the hour preceding the service, at the church. Interment will be on Thursday, March 27, 2014, at 2:30 p.m. in Georgia Veterans Memorial Cemetery in Milledgeville.
Mr. Monds was born in Sanderson, Florida, to the late James and Cora Hutto Monds. He grew up in High Springs, Florida. After high school graduation, he attended Jacksonville University and Georgia State University, and received his degree from South Georgia College. He worked for A T & T and had many other sales positions. He eventually moved to Macon, Georgia, in 1983 where he lived for 26 years and built his insurance agency, Monds and Associates, Inc. Mr. Monds had lived in Perry for the past 4 1/2 years, and was a member of Cross Point Baptist Church. His greatest joy in life was helping people. He was preceded in death by a brother, Jack Monds, and a sister, Mary Monds Barker.
Left to cherish the memories of Mr. Monds are his loving wife of 53 years, Patricia Booth Monds of Perry; his children, Lloyd Monds (Celeste) of Tampa, Florida, Laurie Gerald (Todd) of Forsyth, and Matthew Monds (Rebeka) of Spring, Texas; his sister, Alice Walker of High Springs, Florida, and Nora Lee Groover of White, Georgia; 6 grandchildren; and 2 great-grandchildren.
