Lois Dubois' Obituary
Lois Ann Upton Thomas Dubois, 83, died Tuesday, December 27, 2016 in Mobile, AL after a long battle with multiple sclerosis. A memorial service will be held Saturday, January 14 at 2:00 pm at Williams Southside Chapel-Memorial, 1009 AL-77, Gadsden, AL 35907..Mrs. Dubois was born in Dawson, AL, Dekalb County, on January 17, 1933. She grew up in Gadsden and was a graduate of Gadsden High School. She is preceded in death by her husbands, James W. Thomas and Desire Dubois; parents, Wallace Hubert and Ruth Arzella (Partridge) Upton and her brother, Max Upton. She is survived by her sister, Marie Upton Evans of Bryan, TX (formerly of Gadsden), daughters, Lynne Thomas and Nora Chiara of Pasadena, CA and Anne (Wade) Morgan of Mobile, AL and grandchildren, Kaley Morgan, Asa Morgan and Esme Chiara.Mrs. Dubois was an early member of the Gadsden Art Association and ardent artist, organic gardener, and seamstress until M.S. prevented her activities. She worked many years as an executive assistant at Ft. McClellan, Anniston, and at Mid-South Industries, Gadsden.In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the National Multiple Sclerosis Society Alabama-Mississippi Chapter in honor of Lois Dubois.
