Lloyd Rober Stokes' Obituary
Lloyd Robert Stokes, a native of Laurel, MS and a longtime resident of Eight Mile, AL passed away on Friday, August 7, 2015. He was drafted in the US Army from 1953 to 1955 and was a crane operator by trade. He was a member of Operating Engineers Local 653. he was a long time member of Indian Springs Baptist Church. He is preceded in death by his parents, Ollie and Edna Stokes, wife of 64 years, Ruby Elizabeth Stokes, daughter, Pamela Lynn White, and brother, Leroy Stokes. He is survived by his daughter, Cindy (Kenny) Dobson, grandchildren, Robert White, Jessica (Tony) Terrell, Jennifer (Lance) Fickling, 5 great grandchildren, 2 sisters, Helen Weekly and Eloise Hickson, 2 brothers, Odell (Gwen) Stokes, and Curtis (Pasty) Stokes, nieces, nephews, other relatives and many friends. Funeral services will be held Monday, August 10, 2015 at 1 pm with visitation from 12 noon until service time, all from Indian Springs Baptist Church, 4241 Lott Rd. Eight Mile, AL Interment will be in Serenity Memorial Gardens. The family would like to thank the staff of William F. Greene Veteran's Home and Covenant Hospice for all the wonderful care they provide. Arrangements under the direction of Serenity Funeral Home, Theodore, AL.
