LISA COX's Obituary
PERRY –
Lisa Cox, 58, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, September 27, 2023,after an extended illness. The family will receive friends on Tuesday, October 3, 2023, from 3:30 to 5:00 p.m. at Watson-Hunt Funeral Home in Perry. Burial will be private.
Lisa was born in Perry on May 16, 1965. She worked as a retail clerk at Revco Pharmacy which later became CVS Pharmacy. Once her health began to decline, it was necessary for her to stay home, particularly after the injuries sustained in a car accident in 2013. Through the years, Lisa attended Second Memorial Baptist Church from time to time, and enjoyed singing in the choir when she was there. Her daughter was the apple of her eye, giving her a bright light of hope on many days spent with illness. Lisa loved and was comforted often by her faithful companions - Shadow, her cat, and Lyric, her dog. A loving daughter, mother, niece, and friend, Lisa was a very strong woman who endured a lot through her life, yet continued to persevere and survive for as long as she could. She will be missed by all those who knew her.
Lisa was preceded in death by her parents, Barbara Jean Johnson and James Faulk; and her sisters, Vickie Payne and Wanda Giles.
Left to cherish the memories they made with Lisa are her daughter, Misty Cox (Zach) of Warner Robins; her sisters, Debbra Howell (Stevie) of Perry, and Jennifer Shelnutt (Danny) of Kathleen; her special aunt, Gloria Metcalfe (Doug) of Perry; her uncle, Robert Johnson of Perry; several nieces and nephews; and her beloved pets, Shadow and Lyric.
Condolences for the family may be left in the online guestbook at www.watsonhunt.com. Watson-Hunt Funeral Home has been entrusted with the arrangements.
