Lisa Nash Chapman's Obituary
PERRY-Lisa Nash Chapman, 58, died unexpectedly on Monday, August 7, 2017. Funeral Services will be held on Friday, August 11, 2017, at 11:00 a.m. at Perry United Methodist Church. Visitation will be held in the sanctuary one hour prior to the service at the church, from 10:00 until 11:00 a.m. A private interment will be in Evergreen Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, the family respectfully requests memorial contributions to the Police Benevolent Association of Georgia, 2155 GA Highway 42 South, McDonough, GA 30252. Lisa was born in Clearwater, Florida, where she grew up being a Brownie and a Girl Scout, continuously striving for the The Gold Award, which she ultimately received. While in school at Dunedin High School, Lisa was a member of the band, an excellent bagpiper who was selected to perform in the Rose Bowl Parade. After graduation, she moved to LaGrange College in Georgia and subsequently Georgia Southwestern College in Americus. While there she became a member of Kappa Delta Sorority and met the love of her life, Snyder. After receiving her Bachelor Degree in Nursing, the couple married in 1981 and moved to her hometown of Clearwater where she worked as a nurse at Largo Medical Center. In 1985, they moved to Perry, Georgia, where they would settle to raise their family. Lisa was a Registered Nurse in various departments at Perry Hospital. She was an avid equestrian who rode English Style with both of her sons, taking them to competitions through their younger years. It was through Lisa's efforts, support, and encouragement that both of her boys became an Eagle Scout. She enjoyed reading and was a member of the Perry Book Club for years. She was a member of Perry United Methodist Church and the Christadelphian Sunday School Class. She was an accomplished watercolor artist. Lisa had a special love for her dogs and hummingbirds, and she dearly loved her family. Left to cherish the memories of Lisa are her loving and devoted husband of 36 years, Snyder Chapman of Perry; her son, Nash Chapman of Marshallville; her son and daughter-in-law, Pitt and Alexis Chapman of Perry; her parents, Dillard and Lou Ann Nash of Clearwater, Florida; her brother and sister-in-law, Tom and Kelly Nash of Belleair, Florida; and many other extended family members.
