PERRY – Lewis Martin Meeks, 91, passed away peacefully at home on Monday, July 7, 2025, with his devoted wife by his side. Graveside Services will be held on Saturday, July 12, 2025, at 10:00 a.m. in Evergreen Cemetery with the Re Read Obituary
Simply The Very Best. Continued prayers for his sweet family. Mr. M loved The Father, June, Deborah, Lisa, Laura all of his Family and friends. Already missing him down here but thankful that he was probably one of the best friends that I have had in my lifetime.
I met Mr. Meeks when his mother was a resident at the Church Home. He was a down to earth gentleman who genuinely cared about those around him. I would not have guessed he was the mayor of Perry and a bank president, if I were meeting him for the first time. Thanks for your time to the City of Perry and the residents of the Church Home.

We moved to the Camp Ground a little while ago. We mentioned Mr. Meeks name and heard nothing but positive words.

There are a lot of intelligent people in this world but few who are wise. Mr. Meeks was one of those few who had wisdom. I will miss him and his counsel. I look forward to the day that I see him again.

Lewis Meeks was one of the first, if not the first person to contact me when I moved to Perry. He and a coworker came and visited me and took me out for lunch at Houston Lake Country Club. He made me feel very welcome to Perry and offered help as I settled in and throughout my life in Perry, He loved Perry, he loved his wife June and his daughters and grandchildren ,speaking of them often. He was everything a person would want in a friends, business and church family. I will always remember him as a very special God given friend.
