LAWANA "LOU" THOMPSON MADDOX's Obituary
WARNER ROBINS, GA –
Lawana Rose “Lou” Thompson Maddox passed away peacefully on Friday, February 27, 2026, after an extended illness. She was 72 years old. Memorial Services will be held on Tuesday, March 3, 2026, at 2:00 p.m. at Memorial Heights Baptist Church, 521 General Courtney Hodges Boulevard, Perry, GA 31069. In lieu of flowers, the family respectfully requests memorial contributions to Watson-Hunt Funeral Home, P.O. Box 52, Perry, GA 31069, to assist with funeral expenses.
Lawana was born in Perry to the late Robert and Carolyn Thompson. After graduating from Perry High School, she earned an associate’s degree in Nursing at Middle Georgia College. She worked as an LPN at various locations including Dodge County Hospital, Houston Medical Center, The Phoenix Center, and Pulaski State Prison, before retiring. She was an avid Georgia Bulldog fan. Lawana loved the Lord and was a member of Memorial Heights Baptist Church.
Survivors include her son, Larry Thompson of Gainesville, FL; several cousins; and other extended family members. She will be missed by all who knew and loved her.
