Larry Thomas Johnson's Obituary
PERRY- Larry Thomas Johnson, 73, passed away peacefully early in the morning on Monday, December 3, 2018, after a lengthy, courageous battle with Multiple Myeloma. The family will visit with friends on Tuesday, December 4, 2018, from 5:00 until 7:00 p.m. in the Chapel at Watson-Hunt Funeral Home. A Memorial Service will be held on Wednesday, December 5, 2018, at 2:00 p.m. at Perry United Methodist Church. Larry was born in Byron on September 26, 1945, to the late James C. and Linda Sowter Johnson. He proudly served our country in the U.S. Army during the Vietnam War, which is where Larry contracted the disease from Agent Orange that eventually consumed him. He earned an Associate’s Degree in Agronomy from Abraham Baldwin Agricultural College and had a successful career in Turf Grass Production. He was a member of Perry United Methodist Church and the Christadelphian Sunday School Class. Left to cherish the memories of Larry are his loving and devoted wife of 50 years, Linda Walker Johnson; his daughter and son-in-law, Lezlee and Jeff Davis; his son and daughter-in-law, Lance and Jennifer Johnson; his granddaughter and her husband, Angela and Rockne Hammer; his siblings, Harry Johnson, Carol Besman, Billy Johnson, and Susan Champion; and several nieces and nephews.
