Life Legacy
Larry Londus Sayre, 74, passed away on Thursday, January 14, 2016, after an extended illness. The family will visit with friends on Monday, January 18, 2016, from 6:00 until 8:00 p.m. at Watson-Hunt Funeral Home. Funeral Services will be held on Tuesday, January 19, 2016, at 11:00 a.m. at Grace Church. Interment will be on Tuesday, January 19, 2016, at 2:00 p.m. in Andersonville National Cemetery. Flowers will be gratefully accepted or memorial contributions may be made to Grace Church, 1736 Houston Lake Road, Perry, GA 31069.Mr. Sayre was born in Monclova, Ohio. He proudly served our country in the U.S. Army during the Viet Nam Conflict. He retired after working 25 years at Medusa Cement Company. He also worked as a jailer for Perry Police Department and Houston County Sheriff's Department. He was preceded in death by his father, Londus Sayre, and a brother, Jeffery Sayre. Left to cherish the memories of Mr. Sayre are his loving wife of 46 years, Janet Sayre, of Perry; his children, Dawn Sayre and Todd Sayre, both of Perry; his beloved granddaughter, Hannah Grace Sayre; his mother, Flossie Sayre of Toledo, Ohio; his brothers, Roger Sayre (Katherine) of Oregon, Ohio, and Carl Sayre (Judi) of Parma, Ohio; his sister, Connie Ward of Toledo, Ohio; and several nieces and nephews. The family is grateful to the caregivers from Compassionate Care Hospice who so thoughfully and respectfully cared for Larry throughout his illness.
