KENNETH LEROY BLIVEN's Obituary
PERRY-
Kenneth LeRoy Bliven passed away unexpectedly on Friday, June 21, 2024, at the age of 80. A memorial service will be held on Sunday, July 7, 2024, at Memorial Heights Baptist Church at Noon. The family will greet friends immediately following the service. In lieu of flowers, the family kindly suggests that donations can be made to Memorial Heights Baptist Church, 521 General Courtney Hodges Blvd, Perry, GA 31069.
Kenneth was born in Westerly, Rhode Island to the late Howard Franklin Bliven and Grace Pariseau Bliven on August 6, 1943. His parents raised Kenneth and his siblings in a Christ-centered and loving home. Kenneth attended and graduated from Chariho High School in Wood River Junction, Rhode Island. After high school, he began working in the textile industry at The Bradford Mill. At the early age of 33, Kenneth happily accepted his calling to ministry and attended Covington Theological Seminary, where he grew in his faith and love for God’s children. Kenneth had many blessings from the Lord, first among them being his loving wife, Pamela Jean Bowen, who spent more than 50 years by his side. Together, they had four children and welcomed many grandchildren in the years to follow. Family was dear to Kenneth, and he fostered a loving environment for all who entered his family.
Kenneth’s greatest calling was that of a pastor, and he lived his life to serve his Heavenly Father. For 50 years, Kenneth ministered to thousands of people and counseled many in their relationship with the Lord. Kenneth was a true and faithful servant and will be forever cherished by all those whose lives he touched. Kenneth was heavily involved in Memorial Heights Baptist Church, and the congregation will miss him greatly. His closest friends were found in the Men’s Sunday School class, which he taught bi-weekly. His teachings and support guided many men throughout his time as a leader, and he showed them all great love.
Kenneth is preceded in death by his parents, his brother; Bryan Bliven, and his sister; Barbara Bliven Kyzinski.
Left to cherish the memories they made together are his devoted wife of 52 years; Pam Bliven, his children; Jamie Newton (Hobart) of Nampa, ID, Linda Dieguez (Marco) of Tampa, FL, Lori Colvin (Andy) of Moosup, CT, Lloyd Tuchon III (Jeanette) of Perry, GA, his sister; Suzanne Clark, 14 grandchildren, 18 great-grandchildren and several nieces, nephews, great-nieces, and great-nephews.
