PERRY – Kathryn "Kathy" Pauley Shiplett, also lovingly referred to as "Granny K," went home to be with the Lord on Monday, October 2, 2023. She was 75. Funeral Services will be held on Saturday, October 7, 2023, at Watson-Hunt Fun Read Obituary
Nurse Shiplett nicknamed our son Jeffrey "Turkey Toes" not long after he was born at Houston Healthcare 38 years ago. She was instrumental in his care during his many hospitalizations over the years. I am so thankful Kathy was there for us. May God bless her.
Phil and I worked with Kathy for many years in the school system, Perry High and Warner Robins Middle. She was always full of personality and could come up with unique solutions to some of the problems we experienced! She will be missed! Our sympathy to the family.

Kathy was such a precious lady who walked out her Christian talk 100% of the time! She radiated love and joy and had a magnetic charm where children were concerned. Little ones know who care and which adults are sincere, and maybe that’s why they would rush around “Granny K” from the time she entered the church doors! Kathy’s smile at their various antics let others know that she enjoyed the attention of the children—kind of reminded me of Jesus! As long as she was able, she would gladly volunteer to help with Sunday School, Children’s Church, or Vacation Bible School—any activity that would benefit the children that she so loved!
I had first met Kathy when she was still nursing at one of the schools where I was teaching, and those students adored her too. Adults like me were pretty fond of her as well because she always had a kind smile and encouraging word to share, and would pray with you about any problem you were dealing with. The world is going to miss Kathy Shiplett and my heart goes out to her daughters and extended family ❤️

Your mom was such an amazing friend to so many. I will always treasure the times we spent over the last 50 years, laughing, crying, learning, praying, traveling and sharing so many special times together. Ive watched you girls grow up, get married and have children of your own. We even were blessed with grandchildren and greats!! Kathy cherished each day of her life. While we miss her terribly, her words, laughter, and love live on in our hearts and memories. God bless each of you and know we love you and will continue to be be there for you in any way you may need. ❤️🙏🦋

Kathy was a very special person and I was blessed to have known her and work with her at the Houston County School system. She was a special nurse to my son when he was in the Houston Medical Center when he was a young child and very sick. She was the only person that could start an iv and not make him yell and scream. Praying for her family and know I will spend eternity with her.
Kathy was such a compassionate and caring lady. It was an honor to work with her through the school system’s needs of students. 🙏♥️
