Kathleen Murphy Russo's Obituary
PERRY- Kathleen “Kathy” Murphy Russo, 71, passed away on Friday, August 3, 2018. The family plans to have a private scattering service at a later date. In lieu of flowers, the family respectfully requests memorial contributions to Friends of Perry Animal Shelter (FOPAS), 204 Kellwood Drive, Perry, GA 31069. Kathy was born in Arlington, Massachusetts, to the late Joseph and Mary Costa Murphy. She met the love of her life, Carmine “Butch” Russo, when she was in her late teens working at a donut shop in Massachusetts. The couple married and lived in Massachusetts for a few years then moved to Perry for Butch to work at FranSue’s Bottle Shop/The Cheese Barrel that was owned by Butch’s brother, Frank Russo. Kathy was a private person most of her life, but loved her family and making Perry her home. She was preceded in death by her loving husband of 41 years, Carmine “Butch” Russo. Survivors include her son and daughter-in-law, James and Lori Russo of Elko; her grandsons, Damen Russo and Jake Russo, both of Elko; her siblings, Joe Murphy, Dennis Murphy (Vicki), Kerri Jean Murphy, Bethie Culhane (Andy), and Dan Murphy; several nieces and nephews; and her beloved cat, “Tippy.” Condolences for the family may be left in the online guestbook at www.watsonhunt.com.
