Karen Greene Phillips' Obituary
Karen passed away Sunday morning after a valiant battle with cancer. She was born in Mobile and spent 20+ years in the Gulf Shores area before returning to Mobile. She was preceded in death by her son, Kristofer C. Phillips, father, Cecil B. Greene, Jr., grandparents, Wilma and Edward Waldorf; Anne and Cecil Greene. She left behind her life partner, Victor B. Griffin, daughter, Katherine Michelle Phillips, mother, Catherine Waldorf Greene, brother, Richard Lane Greene, sister-in-law, Jeanea Martin Greene, her junior nurse and ray of sunshine, great-niece, McKenzie Greene, siblings of the heart, Jerry R. Hilker and Vickie Watts, aunts and uncles, Olga Waldorf; Sis and Alex Atkins; Ruth and Rick Melton; Edward and Mabel Waldorf; Linda and Dave Mostats; Carole Singleton; cousins and many other relatives and friends. There will be a memorial celebration of life in her honor, time & place to be announced at a later date. Karen loved life and was a loyal, caring person. She will be missed by all. The family would like to thank the following for the care and kindness shown Karen during her illness: Dr. Donato Dumlao, Dr. Ron Swain, Jr., physicians and staff at Southern Cancer Center, Mobile Diagnostic Center, CVS Pharmacy at Bayou La Batre, Spring Hill Hospice, especially her case worker and friend, Jessica Morris. Thanks and appreciation also to the caring family and friends who helped in so many ways.
