Joshua Horace 'Josh' Simons' Obituary
FT. VALLEY-
Joshua Horace "Josh" Simons, Sr.,77, went to be with his Heavenly Father on Thursday, May 8, 2013, after an extended illness. Funeral Services will be held on Saturday, May 11, 2013, at 2:00 p.m. at Christ's Sanctified Holy Church near Perry. Interment will be in the Church Cemetery immediately following the service.
Mr. Simons was born in Greenville, South Carolina, and was the son of the late Burnice E. and Clara C. Simons. In 2007, he moved to the Christ's Sanctified Holy Church Campground from Orlando, Florida, where he had lived for many years. Mr. Simons was a home builder and a brick mason. A long-time member of Christ's Sanctified Holy Church, he loved boating, sailing, and motorcycle riding. He was preceded in death by his loving wife Bernice Simons; a daughter, Brenda Simons; and two brothers, Garland Simons and Joe Simons.
Left to cherish the memories of "Pop Pop" are his children, Josh Simons, Jr. of Chesapeake, Virginia, and Tony Simons of Orlando, Florida; siblings, Margie Davis of Ft. Valley, Dorothy Graves of Zuni, Virginia, and Burnice E. Simons of Ft. Valley; ten grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; and lots of nieces and nephews.
