Josephine Spires Sheffield's Obituary
PERRY- Josephine Spires Sheffield, 92, passed away on Friday, March 2, 2018. The family will visit with friends on Sunday, March 4, 2018, from 4:00 until 6:00 p.m. at Watson-Hunt Funeral Home. Funeral Services will be held on Monday, March 5, 2018, at 2:00 p.m. at First Baptist Church of Haynesville. Interment will be in the church cemetery immediately following the service. Mrs. Sheffield was born and lived in Milan, Georgia, Telfair County, before moving to Perry in 1968. All of her life, she was a homemaker, having worked hard to create a loving and nurturing environment in which to raise her family. Through the years, she was fortunate enough to maintain her health and kept her grandchildren and many of her great-grandchildren, which she greatly enjoyed. Mrs. Sheffield also loved to cook big meals for any of her family who were able to join her when the meal was ready, even if that included every single one of them. Her family was her passion in life, and she will be dearly missed by all who knew and loved her. Mrs. Sheffield was preceded in death by her beloved husband of 27 years, George Hardy Sheffield, who passed away in 1988. Left to cherish the memories of Mrs. Sheffield are her loving and devoted children, Buddy Sheffield of Perry, Lois Green of Perry, Margaret Ledford of Ft. Valley, Rachel Fussell of Cordele, and Mammie Lucas of Macon; twenty-four grandchildren; a vast number of great-grandchildren; and two great-great-grandchildren. Condolences for the family may be left in the online guestbook at www.watsonhunt.com. Watson-Hunt Funeral Home has been entrusted with the arrangements.
