In lieu of flowers, the family respectfully requests that donations be made in Joseph’s memory to the Leukemia & Lymphoma Society through their website at www.ils.org. Joseph was born to the late Jesse Willard and Leila Maude Vinson Parker, on February 20, 1954, in Fort Valley, Georgia. That day was not only special to his parents, but to the entire hospital, as he was the very first child to be born there. He was graduated with the Class of 1972 from Perry High School and then enlisted as a soldier in the United States Army during the Vietnam War. He earned a Bachelor of Science in Biology from Georgia Southwestern College. Joseph married the love of his, Randa Renau Morrow, forty-six years ago, and together they raised two children, Michele and Joey. Joseph taught the family how to raise chickens and sell their eggs. He loved watching his vegetables go from seeds and grow into tomatoes, corn, greens, and peas. Joseph loved anything related to History, the Civil War, and his family genealogy, where he was able to trace the roots of his family tree all the way back to England. He truly cherished his family, his grand-children, and his four legged dogs. Joseph was especially fond of old church hymnals and blue-grass music. Joseph worked as an Environmental Engineer for the Weyerhaeser Company in Oglethorpe and was a member of Houston Lake Baptist Church. Along with his parents, he was preceded in death by his sister, Erin Hopper. Left to cherish the memories they shared with Joseph are his wife, Randa Parker; his daughter, Michele Frazier (Tom) of Harrington, Delaware, his son, Joey Parker (Lee) of Perry; his grand-children, Brandon Rogers and Keegan Parker, both of Perry, Will Frazier, Jack Frazier, and Leila Frazier, all of Harrington, Delaware; his sisters, Janelle Molton of Perry and Gale Carroll (Steve) of Tennessee Colony, Texas. Watson-Hunt Funeral Home has been entrusted with the arrangements. Condolences for the family may be left in our online guestbook at www.watsonhunt.com
