Joseph Landrel 'Joe' Reagin's Obituary
FT. VALLEY-
Joseph Landrel "Joe" Reagin, 84, passed away on Monday, February 10, 2014. Funeral Services will be held on Friday, February 14, 2014, at 2:00 p.m. at the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints in Perry. The family will receive friends on Friday from 1:00 until 2:00 p.m., the hour preceding the service, at the church. Interment will be in Oaklawn Cemetery in Ft. Valley immediately following the service. In lieu of flowers, the family respectfully requests memorial contributions to Pine Pointe Hospice, 6261 Peake Road, Macon, GA 31210.
Mr. Reagin was born in Lithonia, Georgia, to the late E.V. and Ethel Abbott Reagin. A graduate of Elberton High School, he attended North Georgia College. For several years, he worked in the granite monument business in Elberton and later in Ft. Valley using granite from the quarries that his father owned. Mr. Reagin proudly served our country in the Air National Guard and the Army Reserves. He was a lifetime member of the B.P.O.E. Elks Lodge in Warner Robins. He began working at Blue Bird Body Company in Ft. Valley as a Production Foreman and was promoted to Manager of Blue Bird Midwest and later Cardinal Manufacturing. He retired as the Service Manager from the Wanderlodge Division of Blue Bird after 30 years of service. After retirement, on any given day, you might find Mr. Reagin at McDonald's or Wilder's Garage drinking coffee with his buddies. He will be dearly missed by his family and friends. He was predeceased by five brothers; one sister; and one daughter, Ginger Reagin.
Left to cherish the memories of Mr. Reagin are his loving wife of 54 years, Zadie Lawhorn Reagin of Ft. Valley; his children, Lenny Reagin of Fairbanks, Alaska, Melissa Bidwell of North Pole, Alaska, Joseph E. Reagin of Sacramento, California, Rick Reagin (Lorraine) of Warner Robins, Katherine Reagin Brammer (Ken) of Richmond, Virginia, and Tracy Lynne Reagin of Ft. Valley; his sister, Lorene Shaw of Conyers; 14 grandchildren; 2 great-grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews.
