Joseph Douglas 'Doug' Camp's Obituary

Joseph Douglas "Doug" Camp, 86, passed away on Friday, July 24, 2015. Funeral Services will be held on Sunday, July 26, 2015, at 2:00 p.m. in the Chapel at Christ's Sanctified Holy Church. Interment will be in the Christ's Sanctified Holy Church Campground Cemetery. The family will visit with friends prior to the service.
Mr. Camp was born in Birmingham, Alabama, to the late Jess Holloway Camp and Sadie Virginia Gray Camp. A lifetime member of Christ's Sanctified Holy Church, he was a master carpenter. Through the years, he was very interested in electronics. He enjoyed HAM radio for years, and even assisted the U.S. Army in relaying messages from soldiers overseas back to their relatives. He was also active in CB radio clubs over the years.
Left to cherish the memories of Mr. Camp are his loving and devoted wife of 45 years, Ruth Downs Camp; his children, Jesse Camp (Theresa), William "Bill" Camp (Cathy), James Camp, Rita Mayo (Wesley), Shirley Yates, Wayne Camp, and Joe Camp; 10 grandchildren; 14 great-grandchildren; one great-grandchild; his sister, Ruby Williams (Robert); one niece; and one nephew.
