Joseph Anthony Flynn's Obituary
Joseph Anthony "Joe' Flynn, Jr., 71, passed away on Monday, November 12, 2012 at the Houston Medical Center. A Funeral Mass will be celebrated at 3:00 p.m. Thursday at the St. Patrick Catholic Church with Committal in Perry Memorial Gardens. A visitation and Scripture Service will be held at 1:00 p.m. Thursday at Watson-Hunt Funeral Home prior to the Funeral Mass. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests contributions to the Knights of Columbus or the Monastery of the Holy Spirit, 2625 Highway 212 SW, Conyers, Georgia 30094-4004.
Mr. Flynn was born in Newport, Rhode Island, and was the son of the late Joseph A. and Doris Flynn, Sr. He had lived in Houston County for the past 12 years. Mr. Flynn retired from Brown and Williamson as a certified electrician. A member of St. Patrick Catholic Church, He was a 4th Degree Knight in the Knights of Columbus. Joe was a Lay Cistercian with Our Lady of Holy Spirit Monastery in Conyers, Georgia.
Left to cherish his memory are his wife, Dorothy Bodrey Flynn of Perry; daughter, Maureen Kitchens of Macon; grandchildren, Chelsea Smallwood, Kennedy Kitchens, and Karli Saltz.
He was preceded in death by a son, Michael John Flynn and a brother, John Flynn.
