JOHNNY KNOWLES's Obituary
HAYNESVILLE –
Johnny Frank Knowles, 84, passed away peacefully on Thursday, December 16, 2021. Funeral Services will be held on Monday, December 20, 2021, at First Baptist Church of Haynesville with the Visitation beginning at 1:00 p.m., and the Funeral starting at 2:00 p.m. with Reverend David Fisher officiating. Interment will be in Dublin Memorial Gardens immediately following the service.
Johnny was born on March 16, 1937, in Johnson County, Georgia, to the late B. F. Knowles, Sr. and the late Mattie Mae Knight Knowles. He married the love of his life, Betty Nobles, on December 2, 1956. The couple lived in various locations throughout Georgia, and Johnny was a member and Former President of the Moultrie Civitan Club, President of the Moultrie Merchant Division of the Moultrie Chamber of Commerce, and the Cochran Lion’s Club. After he and his family settled in Haynesville, he retired after forty years in the retail grocery business. Johnny was a Gideon and a long-time, active member of First Baptist Church of Haynesville and the AAA Sunday School Class. He loved God and his family and was wonderful example of a husband, father, and grandfather.
Johnny was preceded in death by his parents; four brothers; four sisters; and his beloved wife of fifty-six years, Betty Nobles Knowles.
Left to cherish the memories they made with Johnny are his sons and daughters-in-law, David and Cheri Knowles of Elko, Mike and Tammie Knowles of Elko, and Bruce and Ruby Knowles of Perry; his grandchildren, Kyle Knowles, Brad Knowles (Ashley), Hunter Knowles, Tyler Knowles, Kaila Ransom, and Savannah Ransom; and three great-grandchildren.
