JOHNNY BARKER's Obituary
WEST COLUMBIA, SC –
Johnny Lee Barker, 77, passed away on Sunday, December 26, 2021. Graveside Services will be held on Sunday, January 2, 2022, at 11:00 a.m. in Christ’s Sanctified Holy Church Campground Cemetery in Perry, Georgia. In lieu of flowers, the family respectfully requests memorial contributions to American Kidney Fund, 11921 Rockville Pike, Suite 300, Rockville, MD 20852.
Johnny was born on April 14, 1944, to the late John Willis Barker and the late Susie Jones Barker. He graduated from Brookland Cayce High School in Columbia, South Carolina. He proudly served his country by working as a medical tech at Roper Medical Center, in Charleston, SC. Johnny was a residential builder and a real estate agent in Columbia for many years and retired after working in real estate. He was a lifetime member of Christ’s Sanctified Holy Church.
Johnny was preceded in death by his parents; and his sisters, Ruthy Jean Cherry Oxner and Virginia Barker Bagwell.
Left to cherish the memories they made with Johnny are his son, Johnny Lee Barker, Jr.; his brother, Boyce H. Cherry; his nieces and nephews, Marian Cherry, Suzanne Stello (Rick), Wyman Oxner (Patricia), Vicky Oxner, Lisa Buffington (Ralph), and Cheri Blevins; and his great-nieces and great-nephews, Wendy Brown, Dawn Cashett, Kevin Vermillion, Emily Vermillion, Cameron Vermillion, Cherry Lee Dudney (Andy), John Blake Oxner, William Chandler Lambert, Zachary Blevins, Haley Blevins.
