Life Legacy
PERRY-John S. Hynum, Jr., 88, passed away on Saturday, April 29, 2017. Funeral Services will be held on Monday, May 1, 2017 at 2:00 p.m. in the Chapel at Christ's Sanctified Holy Church. Interment will be in the Church Cemetery immediately following the service. Visitation will be from 10:00 a.m. until 12 noon, and 1:00 until the service begins at 2:00 p.m.Mr. Hynum was born in Jefferson County, Mississippi, to the late Iva Greer and John Hynum, Sr. He proudly served our country in the U.S. Army during the Korean War. He spent many years in the freight business, starting as a rate clerk on the docks and rising to Head of the Claims Department for Shippers Express in Jackson, Mississippi. Mr. Hynum moved to Jacksonville in 1973, opening Florida Custom Marble. In 1997, he sold his business and retired. Upon retirement, he moved to Christ's Sanctified Holy Church Campground near Perry, GA. He loved to hunt and fish, to spend time in the yard gardening, and to refinish furniture. He was preceded in death by his siblings.Left to cherish the memories of Mr. Hynum are his loving and devoted wife of 67 years, Kathryn Hynum; his children, Kay Hynum, and Janet Keldahl (John), both of CSHC Campground Perry, and Scott Hynum of Jacksonville, FL.Condolences for the family may be left in the online guestbook at www.watsonhunt.com.
