John William Dennis' Obituary
PERRY-
John William Dennis, 76, passed away on Saturday, October 3, 2015, after an extended illness. Visitation will be held on Monday, October 5, 2015, from 6:00 until 8:00 p.m. at Watson-Hunt Funeral Home. Funeral Services will be held on Tuesday, October 6, 2015, at 2:00 p.m. at Powersville United Methodist Church in Powersville. Interment will be in Perry Memorial Gardens immediately following the service. In lieu of flowers, the family respectfully requests memorial contributions to Centerville Lions Club, 612 North Houston Lake Blvd., Centerville, GA 31028.
Mr. Dennis was born in Telfair County and graduated from Wheeler County High School. He proudly served our country as a fireman in the U. S. Navy. He was a member of Powersville United Methodist Church and Centerville Lions Club. Mr. Dennis lived in Fort Valley until he moved to Perry in 2014. He was retired from Civil Service at Robins Air Force Base where he had over 40 years of service. He was preceded in death by his father, Olin Dennis, and a daughter, Sharon Singletary.
Left to cherish the memories of John are his loving and devoted wife, Lavona Collins Middlebrooks; his mother, Rudell Nelms Dennis; his daughter, Debbie D. Gilleland; his step-son, Mark Middlebrooks; his sister, Susie Grimes; 5 grandchildren; and 8 great-grandchildren.
