John D. Brooks Jr.'s Obituary
Bro. John D Brooks Jr., 68yrs of age, a resident of Mobile Alabama passed away peacefully on Saturday, December 3,2016 surrounded by his loving family. He was a member of Stone Street Baptist Church. John was a graduate of Central High School class of 1967. After leaving school he joined the US Air Force. He retired from the Terminal Railroad Alabama State Docks with 34yrs of service. He is survived by his wife Joanne Brooks; two daughters Juanticka (Erica) Brooks-Strawder and Christina Brooks; one son John D Brooks III; three grandsons Seven Osiris Strawder, John DeAllen Brooks and James Anthony Brooks; three sisters Delores (Michael) James, Cynthia Brooks, and Darlene Brooks; two brothers Terrell Brooks and Johnny (Tonya) Brooks all of Mobile Alabama. Aunt Sis Mary B. Morrison, Aunt Ora Lewis, and his Uncle Elbert Agee; one godson James Turner of Citronelle and a host of brother and sister in laws, nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends. Visitation will be held at Serenity Funeral Home on Thursday, December 8, 2016 from 4 pm until 7 pm. Funeral service will be held in the chapel at Serenity on Friday, December 9, 2016 at 12 noon. Interment will be in Lawn Haven Memorial Gardens. In lieu of flowers the family request that you please make a donation to the American Cancer Society or charity of your choice. A special thanks to Dr. Cecil Parker Jr. , Dr. William Taylor, Dr. Matthew McIntyre, and Dr. Rabin Shrestha and their staffs. We also would like to thank Southern Care Hospice for their extended services.
