JOHN BARFIELD's Obituary
PERRY –
John Alexander Barfield, 73, passed away unexpectedly at his home on Friday, June 12, 2026. The family will visit with friends and family on Tuesday, June 16, 2026, from 3:00 until 5:00 p.m. at Watson-Hunt Funeral Home. At the family’s request, all other services are private.
A lifelong resident of Georgia, John graduated from high school and attended Abraham Baldwin Agricultural College. He was a tool and dye machinist for many years until his retirement just one year ago. John had a deep passion for hunting and firearms and enjoyed the outdoors. He loved his family and will be dearly missed by all those who knew and loved him.
John was predeceased by his parents, and his brother, Gilbert Barfield.
Survivors include his wife of 43 years, Diane Rembisz Barfield of Perry; his daughter, Terri Wensyel (Mark) of Athens, Alabama; his son, Charles “Tommy” Barfield (Jocelyn) of Perry; his grandchildren, Tessa Schueler (Michael) of Crestview, Florida, and Quinn Wensyel of Athens, Alabama; and his brother, Clyde Barfield (Mickie) of Byromville.
