John F. Andrews' Obituary
John F. Andrews, 63, passed away unexpectedly on Tuesday, February 6, 2018. Visitation will be on Friday, February 9, 2018, from 4:00 until 7:00 p.m. in the Sanctuary at Perry United Methodist Church. A Memorial Service will be held on Saturday, February 10, 2018, at 3:00 p.m. at Perry United Methodist Church. Interment will be private. In lieu of flowers, the family respectfully requests memorial contributions be made to Perry United Methodist Church, Capital Funds Campaign or Brian Bowen Snax Sax Ministry, 1002 Carroll Street, Perry, GA 31069. John was born on July 21, 1954, in Troy, TN, to John W. and Dorothy Andrews of Troy, TN. He attended Obion Central High School and graduated in 1972. He attended the University of Tennessee at Martin and then transferred to University of Tennessee in Knoxville where he received a BS in Chemical Engineering in 1977. He worked for Procter & Gamble, which later became Weyerhaeuser, and retired after 27 years. He received a MAT in Mathematics and taught for 13 years at Mount de Sales Academy in Macon. He retired in 2016. On September 15, 1979, he married Eunice May Andrews. She is the daughter of the late Elbert and Wilma (Wurm) May of Oberlin, Kansas. They were married for 38 years. They were blessed with their daughter, Jennifer Andrews, of Bonaire. John was a member of the Perry United Methodist Church and an active member of the Mission Outreach Sunday School class. He helped with Brian Bowen Snax Sax each month. In his younger years, flying his Cessna 172 was a passion. He was also a car enthusiast and discussed cars with all that he met. John was preceded in death by his parents and his sister, Doris Jones. John is survived by his loving and devoted wife, Eunice; daughter Jennifer; brother-in-law, Ken (Jean) Jones, Troy, TN; sister-in-law, Connie (Jerry) Olson, Oberlin, Kansas; brother-in-law, David May, McCook, NE; sister-in-law, Jeanie May; nieces, Wendy (Justin) Scott, Stephanie (Andrew) Frankfurter, and Kelly Olson; nephews, John (Katherine) Jones, Brandon May, and Stean (Coleen) Olson; lots of extended family and many friends.
