John Anderson Sr.'s Obituary
John Robert Anderson Sr. (better known as J.R.), age 74, a resident of Grand Bay, AL, passed away at his home on Sunday, September 27, 2015. He is survived by his loving wife of 54 years, Dorothy Anderson, his mother, Vera Anderson, his sister Barbara Parnell, brother-in-law Wilton Parnell, their children, Perry Parnell and Patti Parnell McKee, his daughter Angela Anderson Brentz and son-in-law David Brentz, his son John R. Anderson, Jr. and daughter-in-law Elaina Anderson, and six grandchildren, Aaron McLeod, Alisha McLeod Williams and grandson-in-law Jimbo Williams, Holden Stevens, Lindsey Anderson, Allison Anderson, and Justin Anderson.J.R. enjoyed hunting, fishing, and reading his Bible. In his later years, he enjoyed reading maps, discussing directions, and playing Scrabble with his wife. The funeral service will be held at First Baptist Church of Grand Bay, 10170 Grand Bay Wilmer Road South, on Wednesday, September 30, 2015, at 2 PM, with visitation starting at 1 PM. Interment by Serenity Funeral Home will follow at the Grand Bay Cemetery.In lieu of flowers, please make donations to the Mission of Hope, one of J.R.'s favorite ministries, at 14970 Mission Road, Mobile, AL 36608.
