Joel Evans' Obituary
PERRY- Joel W. Evans, 56, passed away unexpectedly on Friday, September 14, 2018, at his home. Visitation will be held on Thursday, September 20, 2018, at 2:00 p.m. at Watson-Hunt Funeral Home with the Funeral Service beginning at 3:00 p.m. Interment will be in Perry Memorial Gardens immediately following the service. Joel was born in Perry to the late James W. and LaVerne Cole Evans. A 1980 graduate of Perry High School, Joel attended the University of Georgia. He worked in Civil Service at Robins Air Force Base in aircraft maintenance for about 10 years. After he left the base, he began a career in investments and was still working as a capital investor. He was a member of Houston Lake Baptist Church. Joel’s main joy in life was motorcycling. From the time he was 8 years old, he owned a dirt bike and rode the fields and back roads of his Dad’s and neighbor’s farms. Joel was a very loving and caring person. He was always giving and helping his friends who were less fortunate than he was. His love for animals was never overlooked, as he always had one or two tail-wagging buddies in his truck. Joel was preceded in death by his parents and his step-mother, Pauline Green Evans. Survivors include his sisters, Adelia “Dee” Richardson (Bobby) of Leavenworth, Kansas, and Sylvia Gibbs (Charles) of Kathleen; three nieces; one nephew; and numerous aunts, uncles, and cousins. Condolences for the family may be left in the online guestbook at www.watsonhunt.com. Watson-Hunt Funeral Home has been entrusted with the arrangements.
