Joe York's Obituary
Joe Dennis York, 77 years old of Mobile, AL passed away Saturday, October 1, 2016 at 3:30 am. He was born in Summer, IL to Faith and Millard York. He spent 22 1/2 years serving in the US Army, which he was so prod to do. He retired as an E7 and spent 2 1/2 tours in Vietnam. He was awarded the Purple Heart, Silver Star, and the Bronze Star Metal. He married his loving wife, Judy York, on April 2, 1988 and they have resided in Mobile, AL since September of 1999. Along with his wife, he is survived by his 4 children, Robbie York, Faith Eck, Audrey Rich, Dennis York, step daughters, Teresa Dyson, Lori (Paul) Beeson, 9 grandchildren, 2 great grandchildren, 3 brothers, James York, John York and Millard York, sister, Linda (Leonard) Perry, brother in law Herb Lust, Jr. He was preceded in death by his parents, Faith and Millard York and sister Cheryl Lust. Funeral services will be held from the chapel of Serenity Funeral Home on Monday, October 3, 2016 at 12 noon, with visitation from 10 am until service time. Interment will be in Serenity Memorial Gardens with full Military Honors.
