Truly a honored member of "The Greatest Generation." A wonderful gentleman of the South and beloved by all.He and the entire family were an inspiration to me.
I was so sorry to learn that Mr. Joe had passed away. He was one of my favorite people and I am so happy that I knew him. He has joined his bride in heaven. Praying that God will comfort you during this time as only He can.
Joe, Currey, Debbie and Dick. Your Daddy was a friend not only when we all were growing up, but all the way. I didn't hear about his passing until the other day. Somehow Mama who had just moved from Perry to Tenn. near Martha heard about it. Mr. Joe gave me time, care, good conversations, leadership, and somehow I always left him with a renewed faith in country, God and family. Your wonderful mother and father, as well as each of you, will always be cherished by me. We had some times. You know, when we played football, he was there not only as your father, but standing in for mine. I loved him then and forever for that.

To Debbie, Joe, Curry and Dick, my deepest sympathy. Your Dad was such a gentleman and it was always a highlight of my trips to Perry to the Shed and see what he had. I have camellias painted by Mildred Warren that I bought from him, as well as my dining room chairs. I am so sorry for your loss. Love to all of you. Jackie Peavy Young.

Mr. Gayle was such a kind man and I am sure he will be missed greatly by everyone. My thoughts and prayers are with you all.
I am so sorry that I did not hear about Mr. Joe's passing and missed the service! He and Connette were the first people I met when I moved to Perry and taught me so much about antiques and estate sales. A dear and wonderful man. He was a mentor and a hero to me and I am glad I will see him again one day in heaven.
Chuck very sorry for your loss, sounds like your Grandfather was a wonderful man that not only supported his country proudly but the local area as well. Sure he will be remember forever in many people hearts as well as your.
Debbie and Family, You are in our thoughts and prayers. May God wrap his loving arms around you and may you find peace, strengh, and Grace in his presence.
