JoAnn Cross Collier, 88, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, March 18, 2025, at home with loving family at her side. Services will be held on Friday, March 21, 2025, at Christ’s Sanctified Holy Church in Perry, Georgia, with the visitation from 6:00 until 7:00 p.m. followed by a brief service at 7:00 p.m. led by Reverend Mike Gray. Funeral Servies will be held on Saturday, March 22, 2025, at 2:00 p.m. at Christ’s Sanctified Holy Church in Perry with Reverend Chris Collier and Claudia Berry officiating. Interment will be in the Cemetery at Christ’s Sanctified Holy Church Campground immediately following the service.
JoAnn was born on November 2, 1936, in Spartanburg, South Carolina, to the late Ashley and Minnie Handley Cross. For forty years, she worked in real estate. Some years were spent working with her husband, and most of her time in the industry was spent at Watson Realty in Jacksonville. JoAnn was a long-time member of Christ’s Sanctified Holy Church where she considered it her highest honor to serve her Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ. Family was her next great honor with immediate and extended family, frequently opening up her home to family in need. Christ’s Sanctified Holy Church Campground held a special place in her heart, never missing the annual campmeeting and even managing the Cafeteria for eighteen years.
JoAnn was preceded in death by her parents; an infant son, Dennis Craig Collier; her sister, Marie Cross Brooks; and her brother-in-law, Bob Perry.
Left to cherish the memories they made with JoAnn are her loving and devoted husband of seventy years, Charles Collier of Jacksonville; her children, Cheryl Manning (David), Charles “Chip” Collier, Jr. (Kim), and Melissa Davis (Rocky), all of Jacksonville; six grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; her brother, Walter Cross of Perry, GA; her sister, Joyce Perry of Perry, GA; and many nieces, nephews, great-nieces, and great-nephews.
Condolences for the family may be left in the online guestbook at www.watsonhunt.com. Watson-Hunt Funeral Home has been entrusted with the arrangements.
