WARNER ROBINS-Mrs. Joan Elizabeth Landhy Taylor, age 89, died Sunday afternoon, January 17, 2016, at the Heart of Georgia Hospice Inpatient Unit after an extended illness. A Memorial Service will be held on Tuesday, January 26, 2016, at 2:00 p.m. at Summer's Landing Senior Living Community in Warner Robins. In lieu of flowers, the family respectfully requests memorial contributions to Westminster Presbyterian Church, 303 Mary Lane, Warner Robins, GA 31088, or to the donor's favorite charity.Mrs. Taylor was the daughter of the late Irwin Theodore Landhy and the late Bernice Watson Landhy. A native of Chicago, IL, she had lived in Houston County for the past 25 years after retiring to Clinchfield, GA, with her husband, the late Reverend James Marvin Taylor. Prior to their marriage in 1959, Mrs. Taylor received the degree of Bachelor of Arts from Vanderbilt University in Nashville, TN. After their marriage in Atlanta, she served as the minister's wife while Reverend Taylor pastored churches in Alabama, Maryland, Louisiana, Georgia, and South Carolina. She was preceded in death by her loving husband of 50 years.Survivors include her two children, David Taylor and Maggie Taylor, and a son-in-law, Mark Philbrick.Condolences for the family may be left in the online guestbook at www.watsonhunt.com.
