PERRY-Jimmy Bishop, 74, passed away on Sunday, July 23, 2017, after an extended illness. Visitation will be on Tuesday, July 25, 2017, from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. at Grace Church. Funeral Services will be on Wednesday, July 26, 2017, at 2:00 p.m. at Grace Church. Interment will be in Perry Memorial Gardens immediately following the service. In lieu of flowers, the family respectfully requests memorial contributions to Grace Church, 1742 Houston Lake Road, Perry, GA 31069.Mr. Bishop was born in Cairo to the late Paul Bishop and Lorene Pyles. Born with Cerebral Palsy, he moved to Warm Springs and lived there for years. While at Warm Springs, he met and fell in love with his wife, Jeanie Moody, who was also a resident at Warm Springs. They moved to Perry in 1972, and have been married for 45 years. Jimmy worked for a contractor in one of the restaurants at Robins Air Force Base for 28 years before his retirement in 1995. Although physically challenged on a daily basis all of his life, Jimmy was a smart man. He loved to play Solitaire on the computer. He was a member of Grace Church. Jimmy was preceded in death by his parents, and his brother, Mike Bishop.Left to cherish the memories of Jimmy are his loving and devoted wife of 45 years, Jeanie Moody Bishop of Perry; his sister-in-law, Diane Enfinger of Cairo; a special great-niece, Amber Hooks, who has shown special love and kindness through the years; and several other nieces, nephews, great-nieces, and great-nephews.Condolences for the family may be left in the online guestbook at www.watsonhunt.com.
