Jimmie Ray Thomas, age 69, a native of Mississippi and a resident of Grand Bay, AL passed away on Monday, January 12, 2015. He is survived by his wife Linda Walker Thomas; children: Danny Thomas, Toni Curell, Misty Thomas, Austin Thomas, and Layla Thomas; grandchildren: Joseph Thomas, Amber Thomas, Jeremy Meyer-Thomas, Macy Curell, Zachary Ames, Matthew Curell, and Michael Curell; great grandchildren: Natilyn, Caraline and Hunter; sisters: Betty Hall and Pat Thomas. He is predeceased by his parents, Ray and Mae Thomas and his brother Bobby Ray Thomas. He also had many nieces, nephews and friends.Jimmie Ray served in the US Air Force and as a government contractor working on military aircraft in Vietnam. He travelled the country working for Brown & Root and he retired from Ingalls Shipyards after 25 years. He enjoyed fishing, hot rods and restoring old cars. He always had a car or pickup truck in the driveway being restored to pristine condition and superb performance. He was a loving Paw Paw and enjoyed spending time with his grand children and great grand children.
