Mr. Jimmie Derrick Rice's Obituary
Jimmie Derrick Rice- Born to John and Kanda Rice on May 6, 1978 in Mobile, AL passed away on March 29, 2015. Derrick graduated from Alba High School in 1996 where he was an all-star baseball player and captain on the football team. He then attended the University of Mobile and went on to work successfully as a contractor primarily with Master Boat Builders. At one time, he served on the board of directors at Matthews Park and coached his son Jackson's baseball teams. Derrick is survived by his three children; Jackson Conner Rice, Ella Morgan Rice, and Carson Dean Rice along with a devoted wife of 14 years, Jamie Robertson Rice. He also leaves behind his parents John and Kanda Rice, oldest brother John (Constance) Rice, Jr., and his twin brother and closest friend James Eric Rice. Funeral will be Thursday, April 2, 2015 at 2 pm from the chapel of Serenity Funeral Home. Visitation will be from 12 noon until service time. Interment will be in Oddfellow Cemetery. Arrangements under the direction of Serenity Funeral Home, Theodore, AL.
